AMONGRUINS - "Wells of War" (New Single)
The story so far..
Since their formation in 2012 as a studio project between friends, the quartet has released two
full-lengthΒ albums, steadily evolving their sound. Their music can be described as modern, melodic death metal which incorporates elements from several other extreme music genres. Melodic guitars contrast Sverdβs harsh, aggressive vocals, all wrapped in powerful drum beats.
AmongRuins were born in 2011 as an idea for a small side-project in Sverd’s (Vocals, Bass) mind. At the time, he was playing along with George (Drums) and Thanos (Guitars) in a symphonic metal band (Bare Infinity), with which they had 2 discographic releases and accumulated numerous gigs in Europe.
Sverd started writing music along with George, and soon the band’s debut was composed. AmongRuins was a way for them to express themselves differently, more aggressively, in both a musical and lyrical sense than they did in their other band.
Recordings for the album took place in late 2011, and Thanos joined them along the way. Soon after the album was recorded, in January 2012, Bare Infinity disbanded, and AmongRuins were elevated from a side project to a full-time band. Shortly after, the band’s debut album was mixed & mastered (engineered & produced by Victor Berkan at Studio Victory).
In late 2012, the band parted ways with former guitar player Pete, and George (Guitars) filled his spot. The band, its members always having live performance quality as a top priority, spent a few months rehearsing and preparing for live shows, and since March 2013, they have started performing live shows in Greece.
In late 2013), the band signed with the Austrian label Noisehead Records for the release of their debut album “Bring Out your Dead” (release date: October 17th 2013), and are preparing for a mini-tour with Wolfheart in both Greece and Finland.
As the world is recovering from the covid-19 pandemic, AMONGRUINS are working on their third album.
